1/9/19 - Term 3 is ending, and with that, so is Chew on This. All students have put the important dates in their agendas about what is due in the upcoming weeks. Stay up-to-date with the following assignments being due:
1/11 - Vocabulary assignment is due
1/11 - We begin our preparation for the Socratic Seminar Discussion of Chew on This.
1/14 - iReady Testing
1/14 - Finish Socratic Seminar preparation for Chew on This.
1/15 - **Last Day to turn in SSR Journals** (quiz grade)
1/15 - 1st Half of Students will perform their Socratic Seminar (Test grade)
1/16 - 2nd Half of Students will perform their Socratic Seminar (Test grade)
1/17 - Grades Close For Term 2!
1/23 - Vocabulary Quiz from the list that was given on the 11th
1/25 - Chew on This Test
1/25 - Pass in your Chew on This chapter notes which will count as a Test grade.
21/3/19 - The LAST DAY to turn in Reading Journals is no later than January 15th. Grades close 2 days after. Will the Mystery Box finally open??
12/11/18 - Tomorrow we will be presenting our chapters from Chew on This. You will be given an extra 30 minutes to finish up when you get to class. If you feel you'll need more than that, please organize working on different parts tonight with your group. It is your responsibility.
11/30/18 - Students have compiled a list of words within our text that they've had difficulty with, in order to create their own vocabulary list. We will be having a quiz on these 15 terms on Wednesday. Make sure to study these terms throughout the week after you do your nightly reading. All of the students have the definitions in their ELA binders. These are the following 15 terms:
10/25/18 - Tomorrow is the big day? Will the mystery box open???
- The LAST DAY to turn in Term 1 Reading Journals is TOMORROW. First class to turn them all in ON TIME will receive a gift from the mystery box. This is QUIZ GRADE so please get these in. Read the directions and have someone at home read it as well.
- ALSO, our Poetry Test you've been studying 2 WEEKS for is TOMORROW. You all received flashcards to help you study, so study, study, study! End the term strong. You'll do great IF, you've been giving great effort in class and at home. I believe in all of you!
- Last but not least, have you stayed after school to finish your benchmark we took Monday? Many have not. I am grading whatever you have at the end of the day Friday. Thank you for all the dedicated students that have thus far stayed with me during SSR and after school to get their's done :-)
10/23/18 - Today was the last day in our regular period classes to finish benchmarks. Please use after school help today and Wednesday, as well as SSR time to get them completed. Whatever isn't completed at the end of the day Friday, will be graded!
