Homework: Updated everyday (But we ARE all human!) Make sure to check your child's agenda to make sure!
5/15/19 - Remember that for homework you are to finish your "character sketch" project. In order to receive 8 extra bonus points on the quiz we took today, it must show your hard work and must be done correctly. It should also be neatly colored. I am putting these up on the wall for when our 5th grade friends come next week.
5/6/19 - Finish the vocabulary sentences before class on WEDNESDAY!
Due to some students being a little lackadaisical last week...
Myself and Mr. Furtado are being overly indulgent by giving a retake TEST this upcoming Friday. Due to the fact we are giving you extra time, we added more vocabulary terms in order to compensate. The best Teacher Appreciation gift we can receive this week is for you all to study and do well on the assessment. :-)
5/2/19 - Vocab quiz tomorrow! There will also be a reading check. As of tomorrow you would have read at minimum, a total of 1,080 minutes! Everyone should be done with at least one novel by now. Make sure if you didn't finish your classwork that you get it done as well. It can be found on google classroom if you misplaced it.
4/30/19 - Finish the chapter 8 - 9 notes for homework if not completed in class. Also, we will be having a quiz on Friday with some of our vocabulary we've been learning from the novel.
The following words will be on our first vocab quiz for King of Shadows:
4/26/19 - Finish up the chapter notes from chapter 6. Don't forget the chapter notes are on my Google Classroom. Also, remember to be reading your independent novel. As of next Friday you should have read over 1,080 minutes since the beginning of this term! This means, you should be done with your novel or be on a new one!
4/25/19 - Finish chapter notes for chapter 5 and 1/2 up chapter 6. We will be finishing the rest tomorrow. We will be having an open notes quiz at the start of class. Remember, we will also have a reading check tomorrow on your individual SSR book. So far, you've been responsible for 900 minutes of reading! Wow!
4/23/19 - Finish chapter 2 notes if you didn't get to in class. The chapter text has been added to my Google Classroom!
4/22/19- Welcome back from break! We are starting our last novel, King of Shadows, about a young boy who gets transported back into the times of Shakespeare to perform some of his plays. Because I only have class copies, I've put the chapters on my Google Classroom if you need to finish work for homework! Use this link to take you there! You must be registered for my classroom. Click HERE
4/11/19 - We finished ELA MCAS, WOOHOO! Good job to all the students for taking their time and trying hard! Remember that tomorrow is our last reading check before break. As of tomorrow, you would have read at least 540 minutes within the last 3 weeks! This reading check counts as your homework grade for the first week of the term, so hopefully you've met the designated progress especially with the extra reading time during MCAS!
Read for 15 Minutes.
Tomorrow is a reading check! Within the past 2 weeks I'm looking for 360 minutes of reading progress!
